Julia opettaa juutalaisessa koulussa, jossa luokkakoot ovat usein 6 tai 8 oppilasta. Suurin osa oppilaista on erittäin taitavia jo ennen koulun alkua. Kun oma lapseni oli erityislapsi ja oppi hitaasti, niin positiivisesta palautteesta ei ollut tietoakaan. Wilma täyttyi negatiivisista viesteistä, jotka oli mitä kummallisimpia (Julialta). “Kiva tunnelma” ei välittynyt millään tavallaan kotiin. Uudessa koulussa, kun koulu vaihdettin (Julian takia), on aivan eri tunnelma lapseni kanssa. Häntâ ymmärretään sekä kannustetaan. Kysymystä herättää se, että miten Julia toimisi isossa luokassa, jossa vaikeuksia on monenlaisia. Makaroonit taitavat kuulua vain hyville oppilaille. Miten tätä oppia sovelletaan isommassa ryhmässä, jossa on useampi erilaisista ongelmista kärsivä? Jo yksi “vaikeampi” lapsi tuntui olevan Julialle liikaa pienessä luokassa.

Positiivinen asenne tuottaa positiivisia tuloksia. Syyllisten etsiminen tuottaa syyllisiä. Keskustelu saa nämä lauseet kuulostamaan aivan uusilta näkökulmilta kuten asteittainen eteneminen oppimisessa.

Ensin luulin, että lause ”älä lopeta sitä, missä olet toiminut väärin” oli lipsahdus. Sitten teksti myötäili lausetta. Oma käsitykseni on, että ratkaisukeskeinen lähestymistapa tekniikkana ei välttämättä lisää oppilaan kohtaamisen luontevuutta. Opettajan työssä asettaa itsensä alttiiksi kaikkein haasteellisimmalle inhimillisen kehityksen kentälle. Toki tästäkin yksityiskohtaisesta vaiheistetusta replikoinnista saattaa olla silloin apua, jos ei mitään muutakaan kukaan ole keksinyt. Oppilas huomaa teennäiset kehumiset. Hänen luottamuksensa ei lisäänny siitä, että karttaa ilmiselvän asian ilmaisua kuten kiusaamiskäsitettä tai ylipäänsä sanaa ”ongelma”. Aikuisuuden opettelu edellyttää lapsen koulutielle aikuisuutta, jota Ben Furman kuvaa mainiosti pyrkimyksenä tyyntyä, rauhoittua. En itse olisi hoksannut neuvoa tätä. Opettaja joutuu arvioimaan tilanteen myös koko luokan kannalta. Olemme siis koulussa eräänlaisessa ”terapiaryhmässä”. Koulutehtävät ovat ratkaisukeskeisyyden ydinaluetta.

Yes, this was at our first Asia Pacific Solution Focused Approach Conference that the Academy of Solution Focused Training organised in Singapore. We had over 300 people were there. It was an incredible experience listening to Insoo as she talked about the power of the Miracle Question. I have a lot more video clips of her at this conference that I will post soon! We recorded almost the entire program.

My take is that ppl can only say the right thing right time when they are sincere and really care fully otherwise they want to imitate things and limited car shows itself this way. This is a quality that can’t be taught it is about ppl heart
